We all know that Hasrat Jaipuri and Shailendra were the lyric writers for Shankar Jaikishan but both of them wrote for other Music directors also and gave us many immortal songs. He made his debut from the 1949 film Barsat, this was also Shankar Jaikishan's debut film. The success of the film and its songs made him and Shailendra the permanent Lyricist for Raj Kapoor films and Shankar Jaikishan
Immediately after Barsat, he wrote a song under the composition of Bulo C Rani for the 1950 film Wafa. The song 'Armaan Bhara Dil Toot Gaya' a duet by Lata & Mukesh, was a hit. He also wrote a song for the composer Sajjad Hussain for the 1951 film Halchal. He wrote a song for Anarkali 1953 under the composition of C Ramchandra. He worked with SD Burman in just 3 films ...Tere Ghar ke saamne had super hit songs Similarly in 1963 film Ziddi. With Kalyanji Anandji he wrote for' Ji Chahta Hai' and Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani. This song was recorded 4 years before the film released in 1970. In fact, Mukesh sang a few stanzas of this song in front of a crowd of 2500 at the Shanmukhananda Hall Mumbai during the Filmfare Award function in June 1967.
The tune of this song was taken from background music in a scene of Aah released in 1953. This piece of music has also been used as a prelude to the song and appears in bits and pieces throughout the movie. Shankar Jaikishan had many times used a tune played in the earlier film and recreate it a new song.

in one of such Mushairas, the late Prithviraj Kapoor heard his poetry and recommended him to his son Raj Kapoor who was planning a musical love story with two new composers, Shanker - Jaikishan. Raj Kapoor heard his poems he invited him to write songs for his film Barsaat, his first recorded song was, 'Jiya Beqaraar Hai' for the film. His second song (and first duet) was 'Chhod Gaye Baalam' for the same film. Both songs became popular. In this film, he wrote 7 songs,
Awara (1951) was his second film.he wrote 4 songs in this film, one of the immortal song is'Hum Tujhse Mohabbat Karke Sanam'. In the same year, his 3rd film Badal got released in the same year. Do you know that the immortal song Yeh Meraa Prempatra Padh Kar”sung by Mohammad Rafi in Sangam was actually written for the real girl living next door to Hasrat Jaipuri in Jaipur. In an interview, Hasrat Jaipuri informed this truth but It is not known for sure whether the love letter was actually delivered to her or not? Hasrat Jaipuri was born on 15th April 1922 at Jaipur. He began writing verse when he was around twenty years old. Around the same time, he fell in love with a neighbourhood girl name Radha. His love was silent but his emotions were not, he thought of expressing them by writing a letter in poetic form. The words were Yeh Mera Prem Patra Padh Kar, ki tum Naaraaz Na Hona. Ki Tum Meri Zindagi Ho. There was a situation in the film where Rajendra Kumar had to sing a song, for that situation Hasrat Jaipuri suggested the words to Raj Kapoor and informed him of the real incidence also the veteran film producer-director Raj Kapoor liked it enough to include it in his Sangam (1964 Hindi film) and the song ended up becoming a 'hit' song in India.
