Hindi Films with Unusual and FunnyTitles


In Bollywood’s more than 100 years of history, there are a number of films that are still remembered for their unusual and difficult titles such as Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola or Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
In every decade there are many films with such names, in 1946 there was a film Dr. Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani by V Shantaram, Shin Shinaki Boobla Boo in 1952, Alam Ara Ki Beti in 1960 or Badhti Ka Naam Dadhi by Kishore Kumar in 1972.
V Shantaram had a habit of keeping long and unusual titles of his films such as  Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje (1955), Do Aankhen Barah Haath (1957), Geet Gaya Patharon Ne (1964), Boond Jo Ban Gayee Moti (1967) and  Jal Bin Machhli Nritya Bin Bijli (1971).
Here I am sharing some of the difficult Hindi movie names for our readers.

 Paap Ko Jalakar Rakh Kar Dunga - is a 1988  film starring Dharmendra and Govinda

Andheri Raat Mein Diya Tere Haath Mein is a Hindi film made in 1986. The film is well known for its dual meaning dialogues like in all Dada Kondke films.

 Dhoti Lota Aur Chowpatty This movie was made by Mohan Choti a comedian of yesteryears, was released in 1975. Because of the lengthy star cast of this film, the film got a lot of headlines. Despite actors like Sanjeev Kumar, Dharmendra, Mahmood, Prem Nath this film emerged as a flop movie on box office.

Chala Murari Hero Banne is a 1977 Bollywood comedy film directed by and starring G. AsraniThe film had a fresh storyline but failed to click at the box office and was declared a Below Average grosser. This is one of the few films where Asrani had a leading role. He mostly played small comedy roles in his Bollywood career.

Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan This film, adorned with artists like Om Puri, Shriram Lagoo, Rohini Hattangadi, Satish Shah was released in the year 1978. The film is directed by Bollywood director Saeed Akhtar Mirza. This film earned Filmfare “Filmfare Award Best Film – Critics” award.



 Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro is a 1989 Indian film directed by Saeed Akhtar Mirza, with Pavan Malhotra as the lead. The film won the 37th National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi in 1989 



Bandook Dahej Ke Seeney Par This film was based on the social topic of dowry and released in the year 1989. Actors like Shashi Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Raza Murad, Kiran Kumar, Archana Puran Singh, Shekhar Suman, Alok Nath acted in this film.

Ek Chalis Ki Last Local is a 2007 Indian Hindi crime comedy film directed by Sanjay Khanduri, starring Abhay Deol opposite Neha Dhupia in lead roles.



 Manorama Six Feet Under is a 2007 Hindi thriller film directed and co-written by Navdeep Singh. The film features Abhay DeolRaima Sen and Gul Panag in the lead roles.

 Raja Rani Ko Chahiye Pasina is a 1978 Bollywood film directed by Sulabha Deshpande. The film stars Sushant RayDurgaJasraj.

Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola is a 2013 Indian black comedy film produced by Vishal Bhardwaj The film stars Pankaj KapurImran Khan and Anushka Sharma in the titular roles, while Shabana Azmi and Arya Babbar play supporting roles.

  Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana is a 2012 Indian comedy film produced by Ronnie ScrewvalaSiddharth Roy Kapur and Anurag Kashyap and directed by Sameer Sharma.

Allah Meharban To Gadha Pehalwan is a  1997 film. Kader Khan & Shakti Kapoor appeared in this film in leading characters. The film is directed by Ravindra Arora and Written by Ahsan Bharati. The movie was a big flop at the box office.

 Do Ladke Dono Kadke is a 1979 Bollywood drama film directed by Basu Chatterjee. The film produced and music composed by Hemant Kumar.

  Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (transl. Sonu's Titu's Sweety) is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed and co-produced by Luv Ranjan.

 Anaarkali of Aarah (Anārakalī ŏph Ārā) is a 2017 Indian film written and directed by debutant Avinash Das. The movie has Swara Bhaskar playing the lead role of a small-town erotic folk dancer in Arrah in Bihar.

P Se Pyaar F Se Faraar is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Manoj Tiwari and produced by Joginder Singh under the banner Ok Movies. It features Bhavesh Kumar, who marks his debut in the film, and stars Jimmy SheirgillSanjay Mishra.

 Phata Poster Nikhla Hero is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film features Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz in the lead roles.

Apna Sapna Money Money is a Hindi comedy film released on 10 November 2006. Directed by Sangeeth Sivan, It is is a tale of several characters who are in a mad race to be rich. The film, produced by Subhash Ghai, is a situational comedy. The film stars Suniel ShettyRitesh DeshmukhShreyas TalpadeCelina Jaitly.

  Saare Jahaan Se Mehnga is a 2013 Bollywood satire film directed by Anshul Sharma starring Sanjay Mishra and Pragati Pandey. 

22  Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film, directed by Sunil Agnihotri and produced by Sunil Agnihotri Productions, Vandana Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd. This film is Mika Singh's first attempt as an actor.

23  Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy-drama film directed by Aman Sachdeva and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Bejoy Nambiar.

24  Hello! Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain is a Bollywood film starring Rajpal Yadav and Preeti Mehra in the lead roles. The film did well in small cities especially in the states of BiharJharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

25 Crazy Cukkad Family is a 2015 Bollywoodcomedy film directed by Ritesh Menon and produced by Prakash Jha The film stars Swanand Kirkire, Shilpa Shukla, Zachary Coffin.Upon release, the movie received mixed to positive responses. Rajkumar HiraniSudhir Mishra, and Gauri Shinde praised the performances and the story.

50 Years of the film Khilona


Khilona, produced by L.V. Prasad under the Prasad Productions Pvt. Ltd. banner and directed by Chander Vohra. It stars JeetendraMumtazSanjeev Kumar in lead roles was released on 8th April 1970.
With this film, 3 prominent Stars of the future emerged in Bollywood. Mumtaz as a top heroine of the 70s, Sanjeev Kumar as Hero and Shatrughan Sinha as top Villain.
Mumtaz, who had risen from the ranks to make a mark in “Do Raaste” just a year before gave a stunning performance. She won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for this film. Sanjeev Kumar, who did many films earlier had to wait for more than a decade to make his mark in “Khilona”. He was nominated as the Best Actor. Shatrughan Sinha — showing glimpses of the characteristics that were to become his trademark in later years.

The film was a super hit. The film received six nominations at the 18th Filmfare Awards in 1971, of which it won the Filmfare Best Movie Award and Filmfare Best Actress Award for Mumtaz. Other nominations were for Best Actor (Sanjeev Kumar), Best Comic (Jagdeep), Best Story (Gulshan Nanda) and Best Male Playback Singer (Mohammed Rafi).
Sanjeev Kumar who plays Vijay Kamal is a son of a rich Thakur, who lost his mind.
 because his lover Sapna marries his neighbor Bihari (Shatrughan Sinha) and then she commits suicide on the night of the Diwali party hosted by Bihari. This incident puts Vijay in shock. Thakur believes that if Vijay gets married, his mental health would improve. He hence approaches a tawaif, Chand (Mumtaz) to pretend to be Vijay's wife and thus help him get better. which she accepts. Once, in a fit of madness, Vijay sexually assaults Chand. But later, Chand becomes very friendly with Vijay and that starts improving his condition.
Bihari had an eye for Chand, he wants to have an affair with her. He makes a plan for that but Chand does not let Bihari's plan work.

Jeetendra has a small role, he plays Mohan, the younger brother of Sanjeev Kumar also loves Chand but is heartbroken when he finds out that she is pregnant (owing to the assault) and is carrying Vijay's child. Dejected, he leaves home without notice.
Vijay whose mental condition was improving day by day once had a fight with Bihari, In this fight, Bihari falls off the terrace and this shocks Vijay, curing him of his mental ailment. His memory returns but now he doesn't recognize Chand. She is now is thrown out of the house by the other members of the family who were opposed to her since the beginning.

Jeetendra now steps in and accuses everyone of treating her like a toy and only using her when needed. He reveals how she saved Radha(Their sister) from Bihari's evil pursuits. It is also revealed that Chand was actually born in a noble family and was only raised as a tawaif as she was found alone after a train accident. The family thus accepts Chand and all ends well.
The film had first-rate music, with some blockbuster songs, including “Sanam Tu Bewafa ke naam se”, sung by Lata Mangeshkar, and the two Rafi numbers, “Khush Rahe Tu Sada” and “Khilona Jaankar Tum”

The Great Love Triangle Films of Bollywood


After Love Stories, the love triangle is another popular subject of Hindi film lovers. Since its early days' Hindi cinema has showcased love triangles in an ethereal spectrum. The movies with this subject are very common since the 80s onwards, every 3rd movie is a love triangle.
Not many love triangles of the 50s and 60s have a happy ending, however, in Bollywood movies the unthinkable happens, and over the years there have been love triangle movies that have left audiences rather happy than teary-eyed.
Another peculiar feature of the love triangle films was its sad songs and dialogues. The characters portrayed by actors and actresses in love triangle movies often connect with audiences that have experienced a similar phase in their past.

The first great Love Triangle film of Bollywood was Anmol Ghadi released in 1946  directed by Mehboob Khan, starring SurendraSuraiya and Noor Jehan

Andaz After the success of this film, Mehboob Khan made another Love Triangle with Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, and Nargis as Andaz in 1949. At the time of its release, Andaz was the highest-grossing Indian film ever.

Aan This subject was dear to Mehboob Khan, he made another Love triangle with Dilip Kumar, Nimmi, and Premnath in 1952 film Aan which was a technicolor film and was a great hit.

Aar Paar  In 1954 Guru Dutt directed himself in Aar Paar with a love triangle with Shyama and Shakila. Guru Dutt plays Kalu in this film who is a migrant taxi-driver in Mumbai. He has two women who love him and would like to marry him. 

Devdas Another great Love triangle was the 1955 film starring Dilip Kumar, Suchitra Sen, and Vyjayantimala. the film was directed by Bimal Roy. Devdas and Paro were childhood friends.Devdas goes away for some years to live and study in a boarding school. After finishing school, Devdas (Dilip Kumar) returns to his village, Paro (Suchitra Sen) looks forward to their childhood love blossoming into their lifelong journey together in marriage. Devdas meekly seeks his parents' permission to marry Paro, but Devdas' family was against him.In a weak-minded state, Devdas then flees to Calcutta where he meets Chandramukhi (Vyjayanthimala).

Pyaasa 1957 was another great love triangle starring Guru Dutt, Waheeda Rehman, and Mala SinhaIt is also surmised that the story is based on the life of the film's lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi who had a failed affair with poet and writer Amrita Pritam.
Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai was a 1960 film starring  Raaj KumarMeena Kumari and Nadira as leads. The film tells the story of a surgeon who is obligated to marry the daughter of a family friend, while he is in love with a colleague nurse, played by Meena Kumari. It is one of the noted acting performances of lead actress Meena Kumari's career.
Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam was a 1962 love triangle film produced by Guru Dutt and directed by Abrar Alvi. This was a  friendship between a beautiful lonely wife (Bibi) of an aristocrat (Sahib) and a career-driven low-income part-time servant (Ghulam). The film stars Guru DuttMeena KumariRehmanWaheeda Rehman 

Sangam 1964 was another love triangle starring Raj Kapoor, Rajendra Kumar, and Vyjantimala. Sundar (Raj Kapoor), Gopal (Rajendra Kumar) and Radha (Vyjayantimala) have been friends since childhood. As they grow into adults, Sundar develops an obsessive romantic attraction to Radha, but she prefers Gopal, who is also in love with her. Yet, as Sundar has confided his feelings for Radha to him, Gopal decides to sacrifice his love for his friend's sake.

Shagird 1967 was a love triangle but with comedy. Professor Brij Mohan Agnihotri (I. S. Johar) is a confirmed bachelor, and he firmly refuses to get married. He has a student named Ramesh (Joy Mukherjee), who considers him his mentor. On a visit to his friend out of town, Brij meets his friend's beautiful daughter, Poonam (Saira Banu), and falls in love with her. Throwing all caution to the winds, he changes his appearance and attempts to conquer Poonam, but he later finds that Punam is attracted to his student, Ramesh. Now the professor has to decide whether to get rid of Ramesh, or to reverse their roles and make him his mentor

Silsila was a 1981 romantic drama film directed by Yash Chopra. It stars Amitabh BachchanJaya BachchanRekhaShekhar Malhotra (Shashi Kapoor) and Amit Malhotra (Amitabh Bachchan) lead independent lives. Shekhar is a squadron leader with the Indian Air Force, and Amit is an emerging writer. Shekhar has fallen in love with the lovely Shobha (Jaya Bachchan), while Amit seeks to woo the attractive Chandni (Rekha). Chandni's parents prepare to arrange her wedding to Amit. Both Shekhar and Amit plan to marry at the same time, but Shekhar is killed in air combat against PAF, leaving a pregnant Shobha behind. Taking pity on Shobha, Amit marries her and writes to Chandni to forget him

Saagar is a 1985 film directed by Ramesh Sippy. The film stars Rishi KapoorKamal Haasan, and Dimple KapadiaMona (Dimple Kapadia) runs a small restaurant in Goa. Raja (Kamal Haasan), who lives close by, is a good friend. He is in love with her but is unable to profess his feelings. Ravi (Rishi Kapoor) is from a rich industrialist family who moves to Goa from the US. Mona and Ravi fall in love with which Raja knows nothing.

Saajan is a 1991 romantic drama film directed by Lawrence D'Souza and produced by Sudhakar Bokade. It stars Madhuri DixitSanjay Dutt and Salman Khan

Darr: A Violent Love Story is a 1993 psychological romantic thriller film directed and produced by Yash Chopra The film stars Sunny DeolJuhi Chawla, and Shah Rukh KhanKiran (Juhi Chawla), a beautiful college student, Kiran's boyfriend Sunil (Sunny Deol) is a Navy-Marine Commando. Rahul (Shahrukh Khan), her classmate who has a crush on her. Rahul tries to be friendly with Sunil in order to be closer to Kiran. When Rahul receives the news of Kiran and Sunil's engagement, he tries to shoot and kill Sunil 
Kiran and Sunil get married but Rahul still refuses to give up on Kiran.

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is a 1999 romantic drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.The film stars Aishwarya Rai in the lead role playing the role of a young girl Nandini. The film also stars Salman Khan and Ajay DevgnThe film has been described as a loose adaptation of Maitreyi Devi's Bengali novel Na Hanyate and is based on a love triangle.
