Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Dev Anand; they who ruled the Indian Cinema in the Golden Era of 50s & 60s.There was no doubt that Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand were all very handsome, good-looking men but Dev Anand was the Choclate Hero.Dev Anand fitted the bill of the romantic hero to perfection So he was the first romantic hero of Indian cinema.Heepitomized Romance in Silver Screen.films like Solvaa Saal, Asli Nakli, Maaya, Paying Guest,Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai and Tere Ghar Ke Saamne gave ample proof of his hold over that genre. His mischievous smile, his twinkling eyes, his puff of hair – how could you not love him? Jeetendra was born Ravi Kapoor in Amritsar, Punjab in 1942.His father was in Immitation Jwellery business and used to supply jwellery to film industry. While supplying jewellery to V. Shantaram, he was cast as Sandhya's double in the 1959 movie "Navrang." He got his first big break when Shantaram cast him as hero in Geet Gaya Pattharon Ne (1964). Since then, he has appeared in almost 200 films.
He came into the spotlight in 1967 with Ravikant Nagaich's Farz, which went on to become a golden jubilee success. The tee shirt and white shoes he picked up from a retail store for the "Mast Baharon Ka Main Aashiq" number in Farz (sung by legendary Singer Mohd Rafi) became his trademark. His vigorous dancing in the films won him the epithet, ‘Jumping Jack of Bollywood. After the success of Farz he gave many Silver jubilee hits like Aulad,Mere Huzoor,Dharti Kahe Pukarke,,Jeene Ki Raah,Jigri Dost,Waris,Khilona,Humjoli and Carvan He has done nearly 200 films as the main lead, a feat matched by just a handful of his peers since the inception of Hindi cinema. And when it is HOLI, the excitement and the verve that it creates within, never fails to express itself in delightful songs.Bollywood movies have contributed some memorable Holi songs that have become must play songs during Holi years after years. The songs of Holi in Bollywood go as far back as 1931, when the sounds and the music and consequently the film songs, made their first appearance in films. The earliest Holi song that I could find in the Geet Kosh is from the 1931 film ‘Ghar Ki Laxmi’. The song goes like – “Mo Pe Daar Gayo Saari Rang Rang Ki Gaagar, Kaisa Dhokha Diya. . .”. The first Holi Song under this Theme comes in my list is thissong from film ‘Aurat’ from 1940. ‘Aurat’ is a magnum opus by producer director Mehboob,
